Published December 11, 2010 by S
  • 12 medium apples, peeled and cut in fourths   (Granny Smith or other     cooking apple)
  • 1 1/2 cups packed Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of Apple Juice
  • 1 tbsp Ground Cinnemon
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground Allspice
  • 1 tsp ground Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground Cloves

(spices can be adjusted to personal taste)

———————————————————————————————–

  1. Mix all ingredients together in 5-6 qt slow cooker
  2. Cover and Cook on low heat for 8-10 hours (I did it for 11 hours)
  3. Mash apples with potato masher or fork if desired
  4. Cook uncovered for another 1-2 hours stirring occasionally until mixture is quite thick.  It will resemble apple sauce at this point.
  5. Allow to cool, then transfer to airtight container. Store in Fridge.

Apple Butter will be good for 3-4 weeks in the fridge as there are NO preservatives.
